The story behind K Voelz Wines

K Voelz Wines began with a simple yet profound idea. When Kimberly Voelz, owner and winemaker, and her family relocated to La Grande to be closer to her husband’s family, she quickly recognized that finding a job in her field would require a daunting commute. With two young daughters to raise, this was not a viable option. Instead, Kim decided to turn passion into a profession.

In 2019, with winemaking experience spanning three decades, Kimberly started sourcing grapes from Richland, Oregon, initially as a way to stay connected to wine while staying home with her children. She enjoyed crafting wine to share with friends and family, which quickly became an annual tradition. Year by year, demand grew, and with each season, she scaled up production. What started as a small-scale operation in her backyard evolved into something bigger, thanks in large part to the encouragement and support of her family and close-knit community.

Kim credits this journey to her friends and family, who saw her talent, passion, and drive to open her own winery. Today, K Voelz Wines stands as a testament to following one's dreams and the power of community support. Each bottle captures the essence of the rich terroir in the Pacific Northwest and the love and dedication that Kim pours into her craft.
